GarageKeeper is a personal vehicle-maintenance tracker. It is designed to keep your data private by keeping it on your device. This policy explains what information the app handles and what leaves your device.
GarageKeeper lets you record vehicles and their maintenance history — for example a vehicle's make, model, year, color, and mileage, and service records such as the date, mileage, service type, shop, cost, and notes. This information is stored only on your device and is never sent to the developer or to any server.
When you add a vehicle, GarageKeeper can look up matching model names to make data entry easier. To do this, the make and model-year you type are sent to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) public vPIC API, which returns a list of models. This request contains only the vehicle make and year — no personal information, and nothing that identifies you or your device. Use of that service is governed by NHTSA's own policies. If you do not use the lookup, no network request is made.
GarageKeeper includes a "Send Feedback" screen so you can report a bug or suggest an idea. Nothing is sent unless you fill it in and tap Send. When you do, your submission is delivered through Google Forms, which records it for the developer to read; Google processes the submission on the developer's behalf and its use of the data is governed by Google's own policies. A submission includes:
Feedback carries no account, name, email address, or advertising identifier. If a submission cannot be sent, the app instead offers to share the same text through your device's standard share options, so you remain in control of where it goes.
Your data lives on your device. GarageKeeper lets you export your data (for example to a JSON, CSV, or printable report) and import it back. When you export or share a file, you choose where it goes through your device's standard share options — those exported files are under your control, not the developer's.
Aside from feedback you deliberately send (see above), the developer does not receive, store, share, or sell any of your data. GarageKeeper contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software.
Because your data is stored only on your device, you are in full control of it. You can delete individual vehicles or records within the app, or remove all data by deleting the app. The developer holds no copy of your data and therefore cannot access or delete it on your behalf.
GarageKeeper is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
